South Sudan: The Increment of Country's Police by the new government is a positive move.

The news that was reported by different media houses some days ago have excited the entire population of the South Sudan in general and the families of the organized forces in particular. The people of South Sudan who have been suffering due to insecurity especially in Juba as a result of night robbery carried out by foreigners who found their ways to South Sudan after the CPA was signed.

The poor Police pay and/or low salary scale of the Police force in many African Countries has been blamed for poor security and general crime increase in many cities across Africa.  The argument that the Police force lacks motivation and unwilling to take high risk their job sometimes demands because plausible when you look at the average police salary across Africa.

We have to commend the bold initiative taken by the South Sudan government and hope that other Countries especially NIGERIA will follow South Sudan's example and overhaul long overdue Nigerian Police force.  They deserve a better pay especially in the face of menacing threats of the Bokoharam group.
